Three Feet
I took these two photographs only three feet apart.
In the first, the tree fills almost the entire frame.
Then I moved.
The tree was still there. So was everything behind it.
But from where I was standing before, I couldn't see much beyond the trunk.
Three feet changed that.
It made me wonder how often we experience something similar without realizing it.
Two people can stand in nearly the same place, looking at the same situation, and see—and even feel—something very different.
Neither has to be wrong.
They may simply be standing somewhere the other person hasn't stood.
We spend a lot of time trying to understand why someone doesn't see what seems so obvious to us. And from where we're standing, it may be obvious.
But there are things they can see that are invisible to us.
Nothing appeared when I moved three feet.
It was there the whole time.
I just couldn't see it from where I was standing.
Where in your life might there be another place to stand?
